According to the Siddha system of medicine, it is believed that the entire human composition and functioning, contributing reasons of diseases and cure, nourishment required for the correct functioning; every thing is related to the balance of the above five elements. So, the therapy completely lies onto the natural methodology.

Medicines for the treatment are prepared, while chanting pious mantras during Brahma Muhurtha (between 04:00 to 05:30 am). Though, alchemy is not the basis of Siddha foundation but in some ways, alchemical contemplations take over it. The premeditated use of metallic compound as the medicinal ingredient substantiates the fact.

The diagnosis of the disorder is done by eight dissimilar ways. Nadi (feeling the pulse), Niram (colour), Sparisam (touch), Mozhi (voice), Vizhi (eyes), Naa (tongue), Malam ( stool), Moothiram (urine). Nadi means prognosis by analyzing the pulse. Siddha medicine has also formulated the widely popular Kaya-Kalpa. Kaya Kalpa refers to permanence of youth with an absolute freedom from all sorts of infirmities. The remedy has some similarities with the Rasayanam of Ayurveda.

With so many out of the ordinary features in its pool, Siddha medicine has achieved inevitable achievement in curing lots of chronic diseases.
